Google: Art Copy & Code
Google’s Art Copy & Code is an amazing exploration into new ways to create and deliver advertising. Working with Tool of North America, I was engaged to develop the code behind the award winning intro film. This was a unique development experience. The goal was to develop a dynamic film based on the user’s location, weather, time of day and much more.
I have been very fortunate to have worked on some of the coolest projects out there over the past few years. Tool of North America has been creating amazing experiences for the web and I am thrilled to be part of that process.
Google’s Art Copy & Code dynamic film has been recognized with numerous award’s including:
FWA Site of the Day:
Communication Arts Pick of the Day:
Awwwards Site of the Day.
Using Google’s App Engine to deliver the site, the back end code is written in Python, working hand in had with Google’s built in CDN and Data Store. Using weather services, IP look ups and a variety of other tricks we were able to deliver a dynamic and personalized film experience. If it was a warm sunny day when you watched the film, then the film had warm sunny shots , if it’s raining , then you saw rain. Dynamic sound for telling you the time, all worked to build a personalized experience.
